Exit I 45° Stove Jack allows you to exit your wood burning tent stove flue pipe through the sloped roof of any bell tent. Made out of stainless steel mounting hardware and high heat silicone, this heat resistant flashing is easy to assemble and compatible with most flue pipe diameters. The pliable rubber like silicone can be cut to fit the specific diameter of your flue pipe to ensuring your chimney vent is secure. Includes a cover plate to seal the jack when camping without your tent stove. CanvasCamp recommends allowing at least 3 feet of clearance between the tent stove fire box and the firebox on most tent stoves.

Many canvas tents come with pre-installed stove jacks, although pre-installed stove jacks are in the wrong place for 80% of users.  Instead opt for a modular stove jack that you install yourself in just a few minutes.  The Exit I 45° Stove Jack is designed for venting the flue pipe of a tent stove vertically through the sloped canopy of a canvas bell tent or wall tent.  All Exit Stove Jacks can be cut to fit a variety of flue pipe diameters, and can be installed in a few minutes in most canvas tents.

Proper stove placement is entirely dependent on the type of stove you are using and the temperature differential you are trying to achieve between your tent and the outside environment.  Placing a stove closer to the side of a tent and by the door is convenient – it takes up less space in your living area and easy to clean and fuel without tracking dirt through your tent.  However, the more flue pipe exposed to the interior of your tent, the greater the heat transfer.  Therefore, placing your stove closer to the center of your tent will provide the most effective and efficent heat.  Be sure to provide at least 3 feet of clearance between the stove jack and firebox of the tent stove.

When you are not using your tent stove, sticking a plastic cup bottom side out works as a great temporary stove jack plug.  You can also install the included cover plate to seal the jack when camping without your tent stove.
